Deaconess Annie M. Barnhill Andrews, the daughter of the late Harry and Gertie Mae Barnhill, was born August 21, 1939 in Pitt County. She departed this life on March 6, 2022.
Deaconess Andrews completed her education from Bethel Union High School, Bethel, North Carolina, in 1958. She later furthered her education in Bookkeeping.
She was employed by Blue Bell Sewing Factory for many years and later worked for 30 years at Robersonville Product (Hallmark) were she retired in 1993.
She married Deacon Horace Andrews on March 16, 1959 with 63 happy years of marriage. She was a faithful member of Wynn Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for over 70 years, working every step of the way. She also served on the usher board for many years. She organized the Wynn Chapel Gospel Chorus around 1976 and served as the president. She also planned several trips to New York for the church.
Deaconess Andrews was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Harry and Gertie Mae Barnhill; sister, Desora Diane Barnhill; three brothers, Lindward, Alton Darnell, and Lindsey Ray.
Deaconess Annie Andrews leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Deacon Horace Andrews of the home; five children, Deacon Horace Andrews, Jr. (Carolyn) of Greenville, North Carolina, Deborah Andrews Moore (Johnny) of Greenville, North Carolina, Cynthia Andrews of Greenville, North Carolina, Aaron Andrews (Angela) of Richmond, Virginia, and Sharon Evans (Jerry) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Myrtle LuRay White of Raleigh, North Carolina, Juanita Longs of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mamie Barnhill of Greenville, North Carolina; five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
