Hattie Parker Obituary

Hattie Mae Clemons Parker was born on October 21, 1939, in Greenville, NC to the late Roxie Moore Clemons and the late Jasper Clemons Sr., departed this life from earth to glory on March 22, 2022.

Hattie Mae was fun loving, yet tough as nails. She loved her family dearly, and in her spare time could be found at home talking on the phone to several family members including a nephew (Roger) who called her multiple times a week faithfully, as well as friends. Hattie Mae’s memory was sharp as a tack. If you wanted information about anything that happened in the past, Hattie Mae was the go-to person. She had a photographic memory and was able to recall the smallest details about every situation.

Hattie Mae’s passion was watching game shows, and court shows. If she felt anyone said something wrong, she would have no problem fussing them out. If you weren’t careful, you would also get fussed out in a second. Hattie Mae was a straight shooter, and you always knew where you stood with her.

Hattie Mae attended Bethel Union High School in Pitt County. Upon reaching adulthood, Hattie Mae relocated to Patterson, NJ. She resided in Patterson until 1975, at which time she returned back to Greenville, NC.  Upon Hattie Mae’s return, she worked at Union Carbide as a machine operator for several years. During her last years of employment, Hattie Mae worked at Carolina Leaf as a factory worker.

Hattie Mae was preceded in death by her husband James Sullivan Parker; her parents, Roxie Moore Clemons and Jasper Clemons Sr.; seven brothers, James Arthur Moore “Jimmy”, Moses Clemons “Jack”, Willie James Clemons “Bud”, Olive Manning Clemons “Peter”, Jessie James Clemons “Toot”, Jasper Lee Clemons “Junior”, and Elijah Clemons; two sisters, Martha Lee Dunn “Sis”, and Ida Basnight “Sister Girl”.

Hattie May leaves to cherish her loving memory, her son, Thaddeus Clemons “Butch” of Greenville, NC; her daughter, Polly Ann Clemons of the home; a granddaughter, Taneka Clemons Craig (Edward) of Garner, NC; a great granddaughter, Shyirah Clemons who she lovingly called “Moot Moot”, of Wendell, NC; a step great granddaughter, Adia Craig of Garner, NC; her baby sister, Annie Lee Galloway of Greenville, NC; a niece, Deborah Denise Green “Niecee” of the home;  a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved immensely, a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and friends. Finally, one of her oldest and dearest friends Delores Adams “Doll baby”.
