Celebrating the Life
of
Ms. Marjorie Bynum
Marjorie Bynum, fondly known as Margie, was born on January 20, 1939, in Pitt County, North Carolina, to Arthur Lyman and Etta Blanche Morgan Bynum. Margie transitioned to eternal rest on Saturday, July 11, at Universal Health Care, in Greenville, North Carolina.
Margie was the third of eleven children. She was raised in Pitt County and graduated from H. B. Suggs High School, in Farmville, North Carolina.
Margie loved her family, and was a caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She faithfully devoted herself to the care of her Mother, until her Mother’s death in 1987. Although Margie never had biological children, she was a loving support to her brothers and sisters, in the rearing of her nieces and nephews.
Margie will be remembered for her spunky and feisty personality, and the zest that she had for life. She enjoyed cooking country meals for her family. Many enjoyed her collard greens and her turnip and mustard greens.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death, were: two brothers, Arthur Thomas “Pill” Bynum and Joe Henry Bynum, and her sister, Alma Bynum Boyd.
She leaves many precious and cherished memories to her brothers,
Rufus Bynum (Peggy) of Greenville, NC, James “Dwight” Bynum (Maxine) of Silverspring, Md, John Bynum (Brenda Ann) of Greenville, NC, and Reverend Terry Bynum (Cathy) of Falkland, NC; Lee Glover ( Rose) of Greenville, NC; her sisters, Mrs. Emma Bynum Reid of Temple Hills, MD, Reverend Ellen Bynum Johnson of Mechanicsville, VA, and Pastor Angel Bynum Staton (Ronnie) of Robersonville, NC; two aunts, Mrs. Carrie Harris of Pinetops, NC, and Mrs. Ernestine Gorham of Greenville, NC; one uncle, Mr. William “Bill” Williams of Norwalk, Conneticut; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Mattie Bynum at UHC Greenville, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
A private graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM, Homestead Memorial Gardens, Greenville, North Carolina. The burial will follow immediately after the service.
